Scouting For Food – Everyone should be participating!
On November 10th we hand out door hangers in your designated area.  Each Patrol will be assigned an area, so don’t leave your patrol hanging.  The following Saturday, November 17th we will be collecting food.  Again by Patrol.  Food must be handed in by 2:00 pm.  There are patrol points and the Patrol that collects the most food (by weight) gets a bonous.
Military Vehicle Museum Tour – November 17th @ 1:00pm
After collecting all the food on Nov. 17th we are going to see a private collection of military vehicles. The tour size is limited to 30 participants, youth or adults.  I will have a sign up sheet at the Troop meetings.  The cost will be $15 per person or free for those that spend 3 hours scouting for food!   http://bit.ly/W9Snqm

Redwood City Planning Commission Meeting:  advise kids who want to do a communications merit badge civic visit that there is a meeting of the Redwood City planning commission on Tuesday 10/16 at 7 pm and there will be a proposal for a large development on the bayfront wetlands eradicating a local marina/harbor. Whatever their position, it is a good opportunity to see something really civic and participatory in action, if they want to attend and write to the council/commission about it
Registration for the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) midway registration will be available starting at 9 am on Monday, October 15

Pack 222 Space Derby – Needs Boy Scout helpers:
Some ideas where Scouts could help:
There will be two tracks of four race lines, so maybe two Scouts per track to help with setup and launch.
There likely will be ships in need of repair or adjustment during the event, so maybe one or two Scouts staffing a Ship First Aid &  Repair Booth?
Also,  was thinking it would be a neat opportunity, if possible and if scouts are interested, to bring Scouts to give demos and teach some Scoutcraft to the Cubs
On one hand it would help promote Scouting to the cub families, and on the other I was thinking maybe help Scouts could make progress on relevant merit badges through teaching skills to others?
