Muzzle Loading Rifle Instructor Course – 3-part Dec 6, 7, 8
This course gives the students the skills, knowledge and attitude to become a muzzle loading rifle instructor who can teach the basic muzzle loading rifle shooting program. Skills learned are how to teach, shooting positions, body positions, shot mechanics, sight picture, parts of a rifle, ammunition, Winchester marksmanship program, shooting activities, practical exercises, loading a muzzle loading rifle, safety aspects of muzzle loading rifle shooting, safe gun handling, cleaning and care of muzzle loading rifles, shooting skills development. Continue your Troop’s outdoor adventures year-round! This course is a must for leading Scouts in fun and safe snow camping and winter backpacking trips. Trainer’s Edge (Supplemental Training) – Feb 8, 2014
Replacing the Trainer Development Conference (BSA 500) as the required train-the-trainer course for Wood Badge and NYLT staffs, it is meant to supplement Wood Badge and NYLT training with a focus on the participant, while raising the level of skill a trainer brings to the staff experience. Only practice can polish these skills, but this course is intended to “train the trainer” on behaviors and resources while offering hands-on experience in methods and media. Learn more here.
